Iowa AAA in the News

Aerial Applicators help to improve the productivity of crops grown in the state. Research conducted shows that an average of approximately four million acres are treated through aerial applicators on a yearly basis – an area larger than the state of Connecticut. The value of crops associated with this acreage is estimated $14.8 billion. Information from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Iowa State University, and the Iowa Aerial Applicators Association indicates that treatments applied to crops from aerial applicators increase the value of annual crop production by an estimated $214 million.

Wind Turbine & Meteorological Tower Policy

The IAAA advocates the erection of wind towers in non-agricultural areas. Their presence may restrict or even eliminate aerial application as a farming tool. We strongly believe that all meteorological towers (MET) should be marked per FAA recommendations. These turbines and MET towers are a major safety concern to our members and our industry.
